Animal Services Improvements

Cabot Animal Services is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community through public education, resources, and maintaining shelter facility and grounds. They promote responsible pet guardianship, humane treatment of all animals, and pet sterilization to end needless overpopulation through education and community resources. The proposed facility will provide an expanded shelter, public education center, community support services office, and an animal wellness and surgical center.

The proposed Animal Services Shelter will provide up to 75 kennels for dogs, 50 kennels for cats and an exotic animal adoption center. The shelter will be able to provide cost effective veterinarian services, spay and neutering procedures, digital radiography equipment, and an on-site veterinarian pharmacy. In addition, the facility will include a City Dog Park space to promote exercise and socialization.

This will NOT be a new tax. This will be an extension of the current 1% sales and use tax that was originally presented and approved in 2005, and extended in 2013 by voters.
